Raine who owned and operated Africa Housein Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, AFRICA HOUSE was a neighborhood
museum featuring the art, culture and cuisine of Africa and the African Diaspora. ETHNIC ADVENTURES IN TASTE, the gourmet specialty division
of AFRICA HOUSE, operates the catering company, whose niche was the
corporate community, specializing in the entertainment and recording
industry, where we catered such events as the Soul Train Music Awards as well as a Personal chef to numerous Celebrities. Many of Natasha's basic skills as a chef were developed during this period, working with her Grandmother.Throughout the years, Natasha has extended her culinary talents to create new techniques and new tastes. Knowing the ever changing industry she has decided to go back to school and study Culinary Arts, Gourmet Cooking & Catering under The Ashworth Accredited College. Originally wanting to be a pastry chef, Natasha expanded her horizons due to the overwhelming request for her uniquely creative entree menu's and tasty homemade pasta dishes (including her famous mac n cheese). Now partnering in The Soul Kitchen Catering Co. Natasha has dedicated her time and energy into creating an building a clientele high in energy that marks every event a standard of excellence.
Brandy Newson
Originally from San Francisco, moved to Sacramento Ca. at age 12 were her first memories of food revolved around her family kitchen and the home cooking of her
mother and grandmother. It was here in Sacramento at an early age were her
true passion for good food and cooking took hold. Her Grandmother was an entertainer, hosting parties and huge family gatherings were Brandy developed the skills of, serving, hosting, and preparing great meals. Which then led to catering huge events, Wedding receptions, Corporate Parties and Gala Events with a very prominent guest list. Brandy believes that continuing education and professional development is
essential to success in her chosen field. She has devoted much time and
energy to studying Gourmet Cooking, and Catering by attending Food Seminars near and far. She is currently enrolled at Ashworth College Accredited By The Distance Education and Training Council. Ashworth College is a respected, worldwide leader in comprehensive, globally accredited education. The Soul Kitchen Catering Co.
is now Brandy and Natasha's sole project where they can concentrate on the needs of
their Sacramento and surrounding areas clients with their catering, and personal chef services. The Soul Kitchen Cafe is soon to follow.
